Internal audit update: §44 KWG audit practice

The regulatory framework for banks has become significantly more complex in recent years. In particular, the requirements in the areas of integrated performance and risk management and the lending business have increased considerably, leading to additional efforts and implementation requirements in processes and documentation.

Audit practice in special inspections pursuant to Section 44 KWG shows that the content of findings has become significantly more complex in breadth and depth. As findings generally have to be rectified quickly and can lead to significant capital surcharges as part of the SREP, banks should identify these at an early stage through a high-quality internal audit and take preventative measures.

Not least due to the large number of new regulatory announcements, such as MaRisk, EBA Guideline, etc., the requirements for Internal Audit and MaRisk Compliance units are also increasing, as they have to review the changed processes and assess their risk content. A regular review of new topics in the context of regulation and auditing is therefore essential.

We help you brush up on regulatory content and provide practical reports on current audits and special inspections by the Bundesbank as well as recent findings. Benefit from our wealth of experience in regulatory and audit projects in all kinds of financial institutions and put our recommendations for the design of audit procedures into practice in your organization.

At the end of the training, you will receive an official further education certificate from zeb.business school. This can be used as proof of regular further training of your auditors.
