AML – regulatory, functional and technical foundations for regional banks

Anti-Money-Laundering

Financial crime poses a threat to both the overall economy and financial institutions in particular. In Germany, the total losses resulting from financial crime in 2024 are estimated to range from EUR 250 to 350 billion. With stricter regulatory requirements and the newly founded Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA), the pressure on banks to take action continues to mount.

Effective management of financial crime risks not only helps them prevent direct losses and fines, but also safeguards their reputation, regulatory compliance and competitiveness. Implementing such a system requires the collaboration of the management board as well as the compliance, fraud management, risk control, IT security, internal audit and front-office units.

The seminar examines key risk areas such as money laundering, fraud and terrorist financing and highlights concrete red flags, processes and courses of action – with the goal of allowing institutions to preserve their ability to act and their future viability.
